Starting out as a hobby farm, but hoping to expand into providing nothing but the freshest produce, pesticide- and hormone-free.
Companion Planting
It starts with the right combination of plants to maximize growth, and minimize pests, without relying on artificial pesticides and fertilizers.
Along with providing the best in heirloom produce, the other goal of Muddy Vagabond Farms is to provide sanctuary for refugees fleeing religious and political persecution. The focus is on families, as children and the elderly are the biggest victims of such persecution.
Drip Irrigation
No matter what growing zone we end up in, drip irrigation is the best way to go. It gives water exactly where its needed with little to no run-off, giving local water supplies (especially ground water) a chance to replenish.
